Abundant Life Tabernacle’s Discipleship Ministry is committed to helping people become genuine disciples of Jesus Christ through the study of Scripture and a deeper experience of the Holy Spirit. Our discipleship program is more than classes on doctrine. It's an integrated program that helps new believers enter fully into our community.
Objectives
- Integrate new members into the church family
- Equip new believers to live an overcoming life through the Holy Spirit
- Provide continuing education to help all believers grow to full maturity in Christ
New Life Training
New Life training introduces concepts and principles of Christian living to Abundant Life Tabernacle's new members. The course is designed to stimulate spiritual growth, and it serves as a means for assisting individuals as they find spiritual direction and adapt/adjust to their New Life in Christ.
New Life provides an atmosphere appropriate for learning and growing spiritually. In addition to well-defined lessons, a forum is provided to answer any questions new members may have.
Upon completion of the training course, each student is awarded a certificate by Abundant Life Tabernacle's Pastor during a Sunday morning service. This ceremony also gives the students an official introduction to the church family.
This course is designed for anyone who moves his/her church membership to Abundant Life Tabernacle. Completing New Life Class is a prerequisite for joining many other ministries of the church. This program welcomes new members, helps them adjust to the church, and provides them with an atmosphere conducive to growing in a new life in Christ and at Abundant Life Tabernacle.
Christian Workers’ Class
Armed with the vision of enabling God's people to minister, Christian Workers’ Class workers help people discover and understand their duties, gifts, passion, personality style, and calling to reach the lost.
Everyone has been called to be a minister. The teaching ministry is at every level of the church, and everyone is a teacher: we are all witnesses and should be able to share scriptures. Christian Workers’ Training helps individuals understand the importance of faithfulness and consistency in all ministries. This course prepares individuals to discover their place in the ministries of Abundant Life Tabernacle.
Christian Workers’ Class values are focused around deliberate training (Luke 6:46). Through assessments, individuals can learn more about their gifts, and thus employ them more effectively. Ministry training also seeks to teach the importance of communication and teamwork. The ideas that "less is more" and that everyone is a minister are also reinforced.
The Christian Workers Class encourages placement in ministries matching participants' strengths. All church members wanting to become involved or to better understand their strengths, and those individuals who want to improve their current ministry involvement, are encouraged to complete the Christian Workers’ Class.
Completing New Life Class is a prerequisite for enrolling in the Christian Workers’ Class.
